The president said an agreement could be reached "within two or three days" and that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen "immediately" once signed. Brent crude fell below $79 a barrel after the comments.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's office confirmed that the latest round of talks is continuing in Oman and that a "constructive framework" on uranium-enrichment caps and a sanctions-relief timeline is being discussed. An official from Pezeshkian's office said "a final accord has not yet been reached". Oman's foreign ministry said its mediation would continue through the week.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that broad sanctions relief is on the table if Tehran takes "rapid and verifiable steps". Wall Street futures rose on easing Israel-Iran tensions, while oil-exporter equities pulled back. This is not investment advice.
