Zelensky says he had 'positive' talks with Trump envoys on Ukraine war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described his talks in Kyiv with U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoys as "positive" and said they would consider a new ceasefire proposal targeting energy infrastructure. Trump said a decision would come "within the next few days."

France 24 reported that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Kyiv on Monday and met with Zelensky for around three hours. Speaking afterwards, Zelensky said the talks centred on a concrete proposal for a 60-day mutual halt to attacks on energy infrastructure.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow would "consider any proposal on its merits" but stressed that the situation on the ground in the Donbas would have to be discussed separately. Kyiv sources said the U.S. proposal had been coordinated with the European Commission and the NATO Secretary-General.
Preliminary figures from Ukraine's National Statistics Committee indicate that Russian strikes on energy infrastructure rose 22% in May. Trump told reporters a decision would come "within the next few days."
