Two charged over shooting at wrong funeral venue for Sydney crime boss
Sydney police have arrested two men over the shooting at a Punchbowl venue mistakenly targeted as the funeral location for an organised crime figure. Police say the attack was directed at the wrong address, no one was killed, but residents nearby were shaken by the gunfire.

ABC News Australia reported that the New South Wales Police organised crime unit, Strike Force Raptor, detained the two male suspects in the early hours at a house in western Sydney. Investigators say the suspects are linked to a network seeking to settle a score with a rival cell tied to the deceased crime figure.
The Punchbowl venue was empty at the time of the shooting, police said, and three cars parked on the street were damaged. A police spokesperson confirmed that the targeted address was mistakenly identified by the gunmen, and said "further arrests linked to organised crime networks could follow in the coming days."
The New South Wales government said it had approved an additional A$8 million budget allocation to accelerate organised-crime investigations. Local council representatives announced that psychological support services have been opened for affected residents.
