Saudi PIF Launches $10bn AI Investment Fund
Largest AI fund in Middle East.

Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund announced the launch of a $10 billion artificial intelligence investment vehicle, making it the largest dedicated AI fund in the Middle East and one of the biggest globally. The fund will target four key areas: hyperscale data centers, cloud computing infrastructure, AI chip design, and early-stage AI startups across the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
The announcement comes as Saudi Arabia accelerates its push to position itself as a global AI hub under the Vision 2030 economic transformation plan. The kingdom has already secured partnerships with Google, Oracle, and NVIDIA for the construction of massive data center campuses in Riyadh and the futuristic NEOM city. PIF Governor noted that the fund has already identified 15 investment targets, with initial deployments expected within 60 days.
The Tadawul All Share Index rose 1.5% on the news, with technology and telecommunications stocks leading the gains. Saudi Telecom Company and Elm, a government digitization firm, each surged over 3%. The fund launch also attracted attention from Silicon Valley, with several prominent AI companies reportedly in discussions about establishing R&D centers in the kingdom in exchange for PIF investment.
