Lebanon reports six killed in Israeli strike as US announces ceasefire extension
Lebanon said at least six people were killed in an Israeli air strike in the south. The incident landed on the same day the US State Department announced an extension of the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire.

Lebanon's health ministry said at least six people were killed and 12 wounded in an Israeli air strike on a southern village. Emergency teams were dispatched to search for survivors under the rubble.
The US State Department announced shortly afterwards that the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire had been extended through the end of next month, following two days of talks in Washington. Lebanon's delegation said the negotiations had produced "concrete diplomatic progress" with Washington's mediation.
The Israeli military said the strike targeted a Hezbollah weapons depot. Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for stronger Arab and United Nations pressure to keep the ceasefire intact. Ceasefire monitoring continues under United Nations supervision.
