Trump says Iran ceasefire is on 'massive life support', military options remain
US President Donald Trump said the fragile ceasefire with Iran is on "massive life support". Speaking at the White House, he reiterated that military options remain on the table. Brent crude rose 3.2% after the remarks.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said Iran's response to a US proposal had been inadequate and that talks were at a "very critical phase". Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth added that strikes could be resumed without the need for fresh congressional authorization.
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a written statement following the remarks that Tehran is pursuing "diplomacy to the end" and will not compromise on national interests. The Iranian government confirmed that International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors would carry out a site visit next week.
Brent crude rose from $84.30 to the $87.00 range after the comments, with natural gas futures also higher. Energy shares on European exchanges gained about 1.8%. Turkey's Energy Ministry said its gas supply agreements have not been affected so far.
