Tata Trusts to hike philanthropic spending to ₹2,000 crore this fiscal year
Tata Trusts, the main philanthropic arm of India's largest industrial group, said it will raise this fiscal year's spending to about ₹2,000 crore (around $240 million). Its CEO rejected a "chaos narrative" surrounding governance within the group.

According to the Economic Times, Tata Trusts CEO Siddharth Sharma said the foundation has set this fiscal year's spending at about ₹2,000 crore, a marked increase from prior periods. Tata Trusts holds a roughly 66% stake in Tata Sons.
Sharma rejected media characterisations of "chaos" and "governance crisis", saying decision-making processes continue in line with established corporate governance standards. Spending will be directed primarily to education, healthcare and digital infrastructure projects.
Analysts said the increase sets a reference point for corporate social responsibility standards in India. The group is also keeping the Air India integration and new semiconductor investments on its near-term agenda. This is not investment advice.
