Following US strike on Iran's Qeshm, Tehran says it has struck targets in Kuwait and Bahrain
After the United States announced strikes on radar installations on Iran's southern Qeshm, Iran said it had carried out attacks against US-linked targets in Kuwait and Bahrain. Al Jazeera's live blog reports tension between Trump and Netanyahu over Israel's plans to strike Beirut suburbs.

According to Al Jazeera's live blog, the United States carried out strikes on radar installations on Iran's southern Qeshm Island. Iran subsequently said it had carried out attacks against US-linked targets in Kuwait and Bahrain. Kuwaiti and Bahraini officials said they were investigating the incidents and that civil-protection measures remained in force.
The parties gave conflicting accounts about the negotiating channels said to be ongoing between the United States and Iran. The White House said the talks 'remain open', while the Iranian side reflected a tone indicating 'a diplomatic-level freeze for now'. Al Jazeera's Washington correspondent reported that Washington was concerned about rising risk in the Strait of Hormuz.
In another strand of the story, Al Jazeera reported claims that Donald Trump had reacted sharply to Netanyahu's plans for strikes on the suburbs of Beirut. Officials did not directly confirm the claim. Crisis Group analyst Comfort Ero, speaking to Reuters, said 'all sides are focused on containing rather than extinguishing the fire'. Oil prices rose to a one-week high in response to the events.
