Russia and Ukraine traded fresh strikes overnight, with Moscow targeting Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk. Ukraine retaliated with a drone attack on Russia's Voronezh region, and falling debris from the exchange set fire to a Wildberries warehouse.
Ukraine's military said it also struck a Russian oil refinery in the city of Orsk. The exchange of strikes comes after a deadly weekend of attacks, with civilian casualties mounting on both sides of the conflict.
The toll on civilian infrastructure and residential areas is deepening international concern over the war's trajectory. There is no indication that the exchange of strikes between the two sides will ease in the near term.
