Mozambique: almost one million people face severe food insecurity in Cabo Delgado
German humanitarian organization Johanniter International Assistance has announced that more than 900,000 people face severe food insecurity, acute malnutrition and large-scale displacement as a result of ongoing conflict in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado.

German humanitarian organization Johanniter International Assistance has announced that more than 900,000 people face severe food insecurity, acute malnutrition and large-scale displacement as a result of ongoing conflict in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado.
The organization said armed group activity in the region has driven thousands of families from their homes in recent years and severely disrupted agricultural production. Displaced families are largely sheltering in camps in neighboring areas or among host communities.
Aid groups said current funding is falling short of needs and food distributions risk being disrupted in the coming months. Mozambique's government said security operations in the region are continuing.
