Zelensky has reiterated to allies that Ukraine urgently needs more air defense systems. The United Nations said this week that July was the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians since April 2022.
On the eastern front, Russian ground forces have advanced to within 20 kilometers of the strategically important city of Kramatorsk. Capturing the city would mark a significant gain for Moscow in consolidating control over the Donbas region.
