Senior ISWAP finance chief, sons surrender to army in Borno

Nigeria's Joint Task Force North East, operating under Operation HADIN KAI, has announced that a person identified as a senior finance operative within the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) surrendered to troops in Borno state, along with his two sons. Officials said the surrender took place amid the task force's continuing operations in the region.
According to the military's account, the individual had held a significant role in the group's financial operations. Officials said the surrendered individuals have been cooperating with security forces and that the process followed standard protocols. Security operations in the area continue amid a conflict that has persisted for years.
The military did not provide further details on the individuals' current status but indicated that similar surrenders have occurred previously as part of ongoing engagement efforts in the northeast.
