Türkiye's EPDK revises natural gas and diesel production tariffs
Türkiye's energy regulator EPDK published a new framework for natural gas and diesel production tariffs. The revisions take effect on 1 June and target greater cost predictability at the production stage. Monthly adjustment formulas for refiners and distributors are being rewritten.

EPDK's decision, published in the Official Gazette, requires production-stage tariff components to be reviewed monthly instead of every three months. EPDK Chair Mustafa Yılmaz said in his statement that the formula change will 'enhance price transparency' and 'reduce cost-deviation risk'. Brent reference, exchange rate and freight cost will be tracked as separate items.
Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said the framework provides predictability against volatility from Strait of Hormuz tension. TÜPRAŞ chief executive Ibrahim Yelmenoğlu noted in his statement that the company's operating margins would become 'more predictable over the medium term'. Yatırım Finansman analyst Hayri Karadeniz estimated the regulation could cause an average 28 kuruş end-of-month adjustment at the diesel pump.
On Borsa Istanbul, TÜPRAŞ rose 2.1 percent and PETKM gained 1.4 percent. EPDK also revised invoice-display requirements at the natural gas distribution stage. The new framework takes effect on 1 June and the first implementation report will be released on 15 July. This article is informational and should not be construed as investment advice.
