UN nuclear watchdog IAEA demands Iran provide information on stockpile
The International Atomic Energy Agency has passed a resolution demanding that Iran urgently provide information on its nuclear stockpile. Tehran called the resolution politically motivated and warned it could complicate ceasefire talks.

Al Jazeera reported that the IAEA Board of Governors adopted the US-backed resolution by 19 votes in favour and 3 abstentions. The resolution calls on Iran to answer all questions on enriched uranium stockpiles, centrifuge capacity and inspector access within 30 days. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said in a statement that cooperation is urgent.
The report carried a statement from Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, who called the resolution politically motivated and said diplomatic pressure channels could disrupt ceasefire talks. EU High Representative Kaja Kallas backed the IAEA resolution; China and Russia abstained from the vote.
According to Reuters, the IAEA acted to preserve the world's nuclear transparency framework with Iran, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Brussels for emergency talks. Brent crude rose to 84.7 dollars immediately after the resolution; gold approached 2,490 dollars. This is not investment advice.
