Russian Drone Strike Near Kyiv Kills 10, Ukraine Says

Ukrainian officials said a Russian drone strike near the capital, Kyiv, killed ten people and injured around 100 others. Ukraine said the strike hit an area associated with a drone demonstration, though full details of the target and the scale of destruction were still being confirmed by local authorities.

The strike took place a day after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of Raytheon, the US defense and aerospace company, to discuss air defense cooperation. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly urged Western allies to expand air defense support as Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities have continued in recent months.

Separately, Russian authorities reported that a Wildberries warehouse in St. Petersburg was hit by drone fire, though the extent of the damage there was not immediately clear. The two incidents highlight how drone warfare has increasingly reached targets on both sides of the border, far from the traditional front line.
