Russian strikes on Ukraine's Kharkiv and Sumy regions kill at least six
At least six people were killed in Russian strikes on Ukraine overnight into Thursday, including three in the town of Balakliia in the Kharkiv region and three more in the northern Sumy region, local authorities said. A separate Russian attack damaged a foreign-flagged ship loaded with wheat in Ukraine's Black Sea area late on Wednesday, Odesa's regional governor said.
Ukrainian authorities said at least six people were killed in Russian strikes overnight, three of them in the town of Balakliia in the Kharkiv region and three more in the northern Sumy region.
In a separate incident, a Russian attack damaged a foreign-flagged ship loaded with wheat in Ukraine's Black Sea area, Odesa's regional governor confirmed, saying the strike occurred late on Wednesday.
The attacks came as Russia continues to target Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and agricultural export routes. Ukrainian officials said air defence systems worked to intercept a large number of incoming targets overnight but were unable to stop every missile.
