The Houthi movement in Yemen, which the BBC describes as Iran-backed, said on Monday it had launched a missile attack targeting Saudi Arabia. The group's media wing framed the strike as part of its continuing campaign amid the wider regional conflict involving Iran, the United States and allied Gulf states.
Separately, the U.S. military said it had disabled a tanker that officials say was attempting to evade the American-led blockade on Iranian ports. The Pentagon has not detailed how the vessel was stopped or where the incident took place, saying only that the operation was meant to enforce restrictions on Iranian oil exports.
Neither Riyadh nor Washington has independently confirmed the scale of damage from the reported missile attack. The claims add to a string of incidents in recent days across the Gulf and Red Sea, as diplomats on multiple sides say talks aimed at de-escalating the wider conflict are continuing.
