Thousands protest in Kyiv for second day over ouster of popular defence minister Fedorov
Protesters rallied in the Ukrainian capital for a second day on Friday, angered by President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to fire youthful Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, seen as the innovator who pioneered the country's successful drone warfare.

Protesters gathered in Kyiv for a second consecutive day, with anger fuelled by President Volodymyr Zelensky's announcement that he had fired youthful Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
Fedorov is credited with developing the country's successful drone warfare strategy and is seen by many Ukrainians as an innovative figure. He is also known to have clashed at times with the traditional military establishment.
Demonstrators said they feared the decision could hurt the trajectory of the war effort. Zelensky's government has not yet issued a detailed explanation for the change.
