Russia launched missile attacks on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia in the early hours of Tuesday. Officials said the strikes triggered fires in Kyiv's city centre and damaged several buildings in Zaporizhzhia.
Ukrainian authorities said at least three people were injured in the attacks. Firefighters worked through the night to bring the blazes under control, while rescue teams searched damaged buildings for anyone trapped.
The strikes came as Russia continues its campaign of missile and drone attacks on Ukraine. Kyiv said the attacks continue to target civilian infrastructure and renewed its call for allies to bolster air-defense support.
