No word on 78 children kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria weeks ago
Families of 78 children abducted from two schools in Nigeria's Borno State say they still have no information weeks after the kidnapping. The children remain in the hands of Boko Haram militants, parents told AllAfrica.

Families of 78 children abducted from two schools in the Askira-Uba area of Nigeria's Borno State say they have received no information from authorities weeks after the kidnapping, AllAfrica reported. Those taken include 42 pupils from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School and 36 students from Lassa Government Day Secondary School.
Parents say their children remain in the hands of Boko Haram militants and describe a growing sense of desperation as they wait for any official update. Some families say they have turned to spiritual appeals while hoping for a rescue effort.
The abduction is the latest in a long-running pattern of school kidnappings in the region. As Nigerian security forces continue operations against militant groups there, families are increasingly demanding greater information and transparency from officials.
