According to the latest figures from Stats NZ, petrol and diesel prices across New Zealand fell between May and June. The agency said the decline was consistent with broader trends in the consumer price index.
Food prices, however, saw a slight increase over the same period, partially offsetting the positive effect of lower fuel costs on household budgets. Economists note that fluctuations in fuel prices are largely tied to developments in the global oil market.
