Samara lies hundreds of kilometers from Moscow and is known as one of Russia's key energy and defense-industry hubs. Ukraine has intensified drone and long-range missile strikes on military-industrial sites deep inside Russian territory in recent months.
Russian officials reported no casualties from the attack, though regional authorities confirmed damage to facilities. Kyiv reiterated that the strikes are intended to disrupt the supply chains feeding Russia's war effort.
