Iran accuses US of 'reckless military adventure'
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the United States derails diplomatic openings each time a settlement appears within reach. The remarks come after the latest exchange of fire in the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking in Tehran on Friday evening, Araghchi described the US strike on two Iranian fast-attack boats, which followed an attack on UAE oil facilities, as 'a reckless military adventure'. The minister said Iran was still studying Washington's latest proposal, but argued the pattern of 'a new strike each round' was making negotiations impossible.
Iran's foreign ministry confirmed that the 14-point package put forward by the US caps uranium enrichment at 3.67% and lifts a tranche of sanctions on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. A new round mediated by Pakistan is scheduled for Islamabad next week.
In markets, Brent crude pushed past 92 dollars a barrel and the Hormuz risk premium widened to seven dollars. Saudi Arabia and the UAE have called for an emergency OPEC+ meeting on 11 May to revisit the production schedule.
