Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang held a series of meetings with US officials and lawmakers in Washington this week, against the backdrop of reports that the company's export-controlled processors have been used to train advanced Chinese AI models.
According to a report by Axios citing an anonymous source, Huang met with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on Tuesday. Neither the US Commerce Department nor Nvidia confirmed that the meeting took place, and its purpose was not disclosed.
The talks come as Washington tightens export controls on advanced technology to China. Nvidia's position in the Chinese market remains a politically sensitive issue that affects a significant share of the company's revenue.
