Origin Energy confirms customer data breach after earlier 'potential' warning

Australian energy company Origin Energy confirmed Wednesday that unauthorized parties accessed and disclosed some customer data, a day after it first announced it was investigating a 'potential' breach. The company said it is working to determine the scope of the incident and notify affected customers. Origin has not yet said how many customers were impacted.
