ESPN's recap pointed to a Cavaliers comeback that did not turn on a single star, but on a collective defensive shift across the last six minutes of regulation. Bench rotations, ESPN noted, made the difference.
The series now heads back to Cleveland with home-court advantage on the Cavaliers' side. A Cleveland win sends the team to the Eastern Conference Finals. A Detroit win forces a Game 7 back in Motown.
Talking to ESPN afterwards, the Pistons said they would revisit the late-game offensive struggles. Detroit's defining identity through the season has been two-way discipline, and the breakdowns in the second half of the last three games are now the headline item for the coaching staff to review.
For Cleveland, the night was framed as one of the season's tests of composure. Players in the locker room repeated the line that a series turns the moment you steal a road game, and the result on Wednesday matches that logic exactly.
