US Central Command Deputy Commander Major General William Souza said "the strike was a targeting based on accurate intelligence on an Iran-backed target, civilian casualties are deeply regretted and a data review has been opened." Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh said "the defence reconciliation mechanism is being run in coordination with India." Bombay Port Senior Commander Vinay Khanna said the maritime union with SCI announced a livelihood support package for 12 Indian sailors' families.
