Kenyan mother finds body of son two days after Ebola quarantine centre protests
A mother in Bungoma county, Kenya, found her missing son's body two days after protests near an Ebola quarantine centre. BBC Africa said the young man had vanished during a confrontation with police and the family is now in mourning under protective measures spreading across nearby villages. The government said an independent inquiry has been opened.

BBC Africa's correspondent said the events in Bungoma county followed crowd protests at the Ebola quarantine centre triggered by complaints over hygiene and detention conditions. The young man was 22 when he vanished during a confrontation with police. The family's lawyer Mary Wambui said "we are demanding an independent and rapid judicial process".
In a statement from Kenya's Interior Ministry, Minister Kithure Kindiki said "an independent commission has been set up to review police operational decisions". WHO representative Bouna Diop said the Ebola case-tracking count had reached eight over the past week and an additional 280 health workers had been deployed to the area.
Commerzbank Africa strategist Hauer wrote that "the uncertainty could weigh on tourism and air-traffic yields through Q3". The Nairobi Securities Exchange All-Share index opened down 0.3%. This is not investment advice.
