According to Anadolu Ajansı Ekonomi, Peru's Environment Minister Nelly Paredes del Castillo and Türkiye's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar have agreed to circulate a draft memorandum of understanding on mining-sector cooperation through their embassies.

According to Anadolu Ajansı Ekonomi, after meeting Türkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Peru's Environment Minister Nelly Paredes del Castillo announced that the two sides had agreed to circulate, through their embassies, a draft memorandum of understanding that would frame cooperation in the mining sector. Talks covered the investment framework, sustainability standards and the exchange of technical knowledge.
Peru is one of Latin America's leading copper and precious-metal producers, while Türkiye has built a strong field-level technical capacity in iron, chrome, boron and gold, among other resources. AA reports that the two sides agreed to continue consultations on modern production technologies, environmental risk management and the framework for private-sector participation.
No binding numbers were disclosed at the meeting, and the final signing timetable will depend on both sides approving the draft. Investment-related announcements will await Treasury and other relevant agency reviews. This article is not investment advice.
