Türkiye's manufacturing value added grew from $41B to $246B over 23 years, says minister Kacır
Türkiye's industry and technology minister, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, said the country's manufacturing value added has grown from $41 billion to $246 billion over the past 23 years. He said Türkiye's share of global manufacturing has doubled and called for more investment in technology exports.

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır outlined Türkiye's manufacturing performance in a detailed briefing to Anadolu Ajansı. According to the figures he shared, manufacturing value added rose from $41 billion in 2002 to $246 billion by the end of 2025. Türkiye's share of global manufacturing doubled — from 0.6 percent to 1.2 percent — over the same period.
Kacır highlighted the 8.5 percent average annual growth rate of the automotive and white-goods sectors over the past decade and said defence industry value added grew from $1 billion in 2002 to $14 billion in 2025. According to Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye data, manufacturing investment grew 11 percent last year and exports accounted for 87 percent of manufacturing output. Leading sector firms including ASELSAN, Baykar, TUSAŞ and Roketsan raised their annual R&D budgets by 25 percent.
Kacır announced a target to lift industry investment to 19 percent of GDP over the next three years. A May report from the Türkiye Capital Markets Association shows that listed manufacturing firms trade at a price-to-book multiple 18 percent below global peers. The ministry will publish dedicated support programmes for microelectronics, artificial intelligence and green hydrogen as part of the 2026 industrial policy framework.
