According to BBC Middle East, imagery from Maxar Technologies and Planet Labs PBC covers a broad area from the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and Al Asad Air Base in Iraq.
Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh said at a press briefing that 'estimated financial loss is $1.2 billion, with no installation taken fully out of service'. Bahrain Defence Force commander Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said the Fifth Fleet 'has retained its full operational capacity'. Qatar's foreign minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced that 'repair works at Al Udeid will be completed within 30 days'.
Iranian Revolutionary Guards spokesperson General Ramazan Sharif said in a statement that 'every strike is part of a previously announced deterrence strategy'. Jon Alterman, director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies Middle East Programme, commented that 'the damage mapping points to long-term repositioning in the regional balance of power'. Royal United Services Institute researcher Jack Watling said 'the damage pattern reveals Iran's targeting priorities'.
