Russian attacks across Ukraine kill several, set renowned Kyiv monastery ablaze
According to France 24, Russia's intensified air attacks across Ukraine killed several people and set fire to the Lavra monastery complex in Kyiv. European governments condemned the strikes, and Kyiv said cultural heritage had been targeted.

According to France 24, Russia carried out a wave of air strikes overnight targeting multiple regions of Ukraine. The Kyiv city governor said civilian buildings in the centre of the capital were damaged and several people had been killed.
Ukraine's culture ministry said the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery complex had also been affected and that fires had broken out in some historic buildings. President Volodymyr Zelensky said at the site that the attacks had targeted cultural heritage, and the Council of Europe and several EU foreign ministries condemned them.
Moscow did not comment on its targets. Diplomats in Brussels said the next EU sanctions package could expand restrictions on energy and technology exports. NATO's regular briefing schedule will be closely watched.
