Turk Telekom and ASELSAN to develop domestic communication device
Turk Telekom and ASELSAN signed a cooperation agreement to develop a domestically produced communication device. The deal covers a shared product family for both defence and civilian use. The two companies said the R&D investment will also expand production capacity.

Turk Telekom and defence technology company ASELSAN signed a cooperation agreement to develop domestic communication devices, according to TRT Haber. Under the deal, the products will be designed to meet both defence-industry and civilian needs. The two firms aim to build the devices around a shared core platform.
Turk Telekom CEO Umit Onal said the project will raise the domestic content ratio in the operator's network equipment. ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol said additional R&D will go into running the existing product family on fully domestic chipsets. The two companies said they would share further details in the coming months.
Design, production and testing will all take place in Turkey, with the first products expected to be supplied first to public institutions and defence customers. The companies added that export targets will be disclosed by year-end. The deal opens the door to a longer operational partnership between Turk Telekom and the country's defence-industrial base.
