Lebanon says 21 killed, including children, in Israeli air strikes
Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said at least 21 people, including four children, were killed in Israeli air strikes in the Bekaa Valley and the southern Tyre district. The Israeli military said it struck targets linked to Hezbollah. The United Nations called on the parties to renew the ceasefire.

Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said in a Tuesday-morning bulletin that at least 21 people were killed and 47 injured in Israeli Air Force strikes on the Bekaa Valley and the southern district of Tyre. The ministry said the dead included four children and three medical workers. Red Cross teams continued search-and-rescue operations on the sites overnight.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the targets were Hezbollah weapons depots and rocket launch sites. The IDF said Hezbollah had intensified drone attacks on northern Israel in recent weeks. Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Kassem said in a televised address Tuesday evening: 'We will respond to Israeli aggression.'
United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator Imran Riza called on the parties to restore the ceasefire. A short-lived truce reached in early May 2026 collapsed after a chain of violations in the past three weeks. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller called on 'all parties to protect civilians.'
