Green energy share at Türkiye charging stations reaches 60 percent
According to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the share of renewable energy supplying electric-vehicle charging stations in Türkiye has reached 60 percent. Total installed charging capacity grew 87 percent year-on-year to 1,180 MW, with investor demand likely to push the year-end target higher.

Updated data from the Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources shows that the share of electricity from renewable sources powering electric-vehicle charging stations has reached 60 percent, up from 47 percent a year earlier. The number of operators licensed by the EPDK regulator under the Charging Service Regulation has risen to 218, while installed charging capacity stands at 1,180 MW.
The ministry attributed the rise to accelerated solar and wind plant investment and a wave of green-supply contracts signed by station operators. TEHAD industry-association chair Berke Kaya said the sector expects installed capacity to reach 1,700 MW by the end of 2026, while major operators including Eshot, ZES, Trugo and Wat have announced solar supply agreements.
Deputy Economy Minister Mahmut Gürcan said the sector attracts around $320 million in annual investment and supports about 4,800 indirect jobs. EBRD Türkiye director Arvid Tuerkner said the bank plans to provide a further €150 million in financing to Türkiye's charging infrastructure by year-end. The data suggest Türkiye's 2030 target of 100,000 public charging points could be met 18 months ahead of schedule.
