Pezeshkian: Negotiation does not mean surrender
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said his country's calls for negotiation and dialogue do not amount to surrender. Speaking in Tehran, he insisted that all available resources were being mobilised to repair the damage caused by the war.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed a meeting in Tehran convened to coordinate the repair of war damage. He said calls for negotiation and dialogue did not amount to surrender, framing the approach as a means to defend Iran's national interests and the rights of its citizens.
The president said all available resources were being directed to support those hit hardest by the strikes, and that reconstruction work had been moved to the top of the cabinet agenda. Local councils and the national regulator are expected to publish independent damage assessments in the coming weeks.
Pezeshkian's remarks landed at a moment when Tehran has yet to formally answer the latest US proposal. European diplomats say back-channel mediation by Pakistan is progressing, but security arrangements at the Strait of Hormuz remain the principal sticking point in any path to a durable ceasefire.
