Flotilla activists arrive in Türkiye before setting sail to Gaza
More than 30 vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla have arrived at Marmaris on Türkiye's coast to complete final preparations before sailing to Gaza. The activists hope this fresh attempt to break the blockade will draw international attention.

The Global Sumud Flotilla said more than 30 of its vessels had reached the port of Marmaris on Türkiye's south-western coast. Activists onboard plan to load medicine, food and medical equipment before setting course for Gaza.
Israel has previously intercepted similar attempts and deported activists to Greece or Egypt. This time the flotilla's route planning is being conducted with a legal observer team that includes international monitors based off the coast of Cyprus. The Turkish Coast Guard said it would escort the vessels as far as the country's territorial waters.
Israel's foreign ministry said 'necessary measures will be taken' if the flotilla approaches the area, while the EU's High Representative urged restraint on all sides. With Hamas-disarmament talks stalled, developments around the flotilla could reshape regional diplomatic traffic in the days ahead.
