At least 14 dead as Ukraine and Russia exchange long-range strikes

Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory killed at least nine people Sunday, with one attack setting a Wildberries warehouse ablaze, regional governors said. Russian officials said civilian infrastructure was also hit. Retaliatory Russian strikes on Ukraine the same day killed at least five people, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Both sides have intensified long-range attacks in recent weeks after efforts to negotiate an end to the war stalled. Russian forces also stepped up strikes on Black Sea shipping routes, saying they hit fuel storage facilities in the port of Odesa and a tugboat used by Ukraine's military near Mykolaiv.
Analysts said the rise in cross-border strikes may reflect both sides seeking to strengthen their battlefield position ahead of any renewed talks. Global grain markets continue to watch the escalating tensions in the Black Sea closely.
