Israelis attack Armenian monastery in Jerusalem's Old City

Six Jewish Israelis were filmed spitting at the entrance to Saint James Monastery, located in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City. Footage of the incident spread quickly on social media and was condemned by the local Armenian community.

Armenian community leaders said harassment incidents targeting religious and ethnic minorities in the quarter have increased in recent years, without adequate measures being taken in response. The community said similar incidents have occurred before, with complaints often going unresolved.

Israeli police said they were investigating the incident, though no arrests had been made as of Sunday. Human rights groups said attacks on religious minorities in Jerusalem show a rising trend and called on authorities to take firmer action.
