Uber has put its plans to expand food delivery across Europe on hold, the Financial Times reported. The company is instead focused on a possible deal with Germany-based Delivery Hero.
Delivery Hero is a large food-delivery operator active across many European and emerging markets. A transaction with Uber could combine the two groups' footprint on the continent and reshape competition in the sector.
The report said talks remain at an early stage and no final outcome has been reached. Uber and Delivery Hero declined to comment, and investors are waiting to learn the terms of any potential agreement.
