Thai court sentences two to death over 2015 Bangkok Erawan shrine bombing
A Bangkok court sentenced two men to death over the 2015 Erawan shrine bombing that killed 20 people and injured 120. The verdict came at the end of an 11-year trial process.

Bangkok Criminal Court Chief Judge Sittichai Phromphan said: "The guilt of the defendants is established beyond reasonable doubt". The two defendants Adamoglu Karadag and Yusufu Mieraili exercised their right to appeal through a court-appointed interpreter.
Thai Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura told a press briefing: "The verdict reflects our judicial independence; international cooperation will continue". The 2015 attack was widely interpreted as retaliation for Thailand's deportation of Uyghurs to China.
Tourism Authority of Thailand Deputy Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said: "Tourist arrivals to Bangkok have normalised since the incident; we are now at around 25,000 daily arrivals". The SET 50 index closed up 0.3% after the verdict. Not investment advice.
