Iran reviews US proposal to end war as Pakistan steps up mediation efforts
Iran's presidential spokesperson said a comprehensive proposal package conveyed from Washington is under review. Pakistan's foreign minister announced two separate rounds of mediation with Tehran and Washington in the past 72 hours.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Iran's presidential spokesperson said the proposal conveyed from Washington covers safety of vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz, an exchange of prisoners of war, and a halt to clashes on the Syrian border. Tehran confirmed that the proposal also offers a timetable on certain items within US Treasury sanctions.
Pakistan's foreign minister said he held two meetings with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and one with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the last 72 hours. Islamabad said it is conducting its mediation role in coordination with Qatar and Oman; officials from the three countries are meeting this week in Istanbul.
The statements came on the same day Trump said he was willing to wait 'a few days.' The Tehran Stock Exchange opened positive today following yesterday's 1.9% rise; Brent futures continue to trade just under $99 a barrel. The Israeli side said the ceasefire proposal does not adequately address Israeli security concerns.
