Türkiye safeguards energy supply security through diversified sourcing routes
Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz following US and Israeli strikes on Iran have highlighted the value of alternative energy routes. According to TRT Haber Ekonomi, Türkiye has maintained gas and oil supply security through its pipeline infrastructure and diversified sourcing.

According to TRT Haber Ekonomi, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz following US and Israeli strikes on Iran have reinforced the importance of alternative routes in global energy trade. The report states that Türkiye remains a key transit country, with the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) crude oil pipeline, the TANAP natural gas corridor and its LNG terminals helping to maintain the flow of energy to Europe. Official statements indicate that supply security in gas and oil has been preserved.
Sources at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources said that while short-term disruptions could create variability in certain contracts, the diversified structure has limited price and volume risks. Recent reports from the EU and international energy agencies have highlighted the critical importance of east-west corridors for continental energy security, underscoring Türkiye's transit capacity.
In the coming period, developments in the Hormuz debate, the outcome of US-Iran negotiations and Europe's winter storage targets are likely to be decisive themes in Türkiye's energy equation. This article is not investment advice.
