Erdogan tells Barzani Turkey opposes any spillover from the Iran war
President Erdogan hosted Iraqi Kurdistan leader Masoud Barzani in Ankara, with talks centred on preventing the US-Iran war from spilling into Iraq and Syria.

After about two hours of talks at the Presidential Complex, Erdogan said: 'Stability in our region is a red line; we will not allow the conflict to spread.' He pledged increased energy and security cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Barzani thanked Ankara for energy and security support and said Iranian opposition groups sheltering near Sulaymaniyah had been brought under control. The two sides also discussed the technical timetable for an eleven billion dollar project to reopen the Kirkuk oil export pipeline.
The dollar-lira rate slipped 0.3% to 41.82 after the foreign ministry briefing. Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 ended the week up 1.4% at a fresh record, with the banking index closing 2.1% higher on the day.
