According to authorities, a 32-year-old man identified as the actor's former girlfriend's new partner was forced into a car by two men days earlier and held for four hours.
South African police said the actor's statement had been taken and that he did not resist arrest at the station. His production company said he would be off the show pending the outcome of the investigation. Local media are observing reporting restrictions.
