At the Automechanika Istanbul fair held at the TÜYAP Fair Centre, industry executives told Anadolu Ajansı Ekonomi that Türkiye's annual auto parts exports have reached $14 billion. More than 1,350 companies from 41 countries opened stands at the fair, with primary visitor markets cited as Germany, Italy, the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

Representatives of the Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers said European OEMs are strengthening their near-shoring preferences, and that Turkish suppliers are winning orders in EV wiring harnesses, battery cooling systems and light-metal cast components. The industry aims to lift export volume to $18 billion by the end of 2027.

Manufacturers said rising energy costs over the past six months have squeezed margins, prompting more digitalisation in processes and longer-term lock-ins on raw-material contracts. Ministry of Trade officials at the opening highlighted Türkiye's strategic role in the automotive supply chain.
