The field supplies about 10% of global natural gas output and is a strategic resource.
Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said recovery is continuing and that a substantial share of lost capacity is expected to be made up by year-end. Goldman Sachs commodity analyst Daan Struyven noted that normalisation of production could gradually ease dollar-denominated Brent pressure; Wood Mackenzie Asia oil director Sushant Gupta said maritime logistics and insurance premiums will determine the pace of return to medium-term levels.
European Commissioner Kadri Simson said the EU energy diversification package will strengthen the Mediterranean LNG corridor, while UN Under-Secretary-General Wosornu repeated calls to protect civilian energy infrastructure.
