Iran's deputy FM Khatibzadeh says Tehran is ready to move forward in deal with US
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said in an Al Jazeera interview that diplomacy is the only way forward and Tehran is ready to move ahead with the framework deal with the United States. He also called on Washington to ensure Israel stops its attacks on Lebanon.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh told Al Jazeera that Tehran is ready to move to the next implementation step of the framework agreement signed last month with the United States. Khatibzadeh said the negotiating channels would remain open but that Washington needed to take responsibility for limiting Israel's strikes on Lebanon.
Iran's comments came after the White House announced an Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire earlier the same day. Khatibzadeh described regional stability as 'one of the preconditions' of the framework deal and noted that technical talks with the US were ongoing in Geneva.
A US State Department spokesperson said the framework agreement was advancing on a tight schedule and that technical dialogue with Iran was running at an intense pace. The European Union's chief negotiator plans to visit Tehran next week.
