Al Jazeera: West Bank Bedouin displacement enters its third year of upheaval
An Al Jazeera field investigation reports that Palestinian Bedouin communities in the West Bank have been facing displacement pressure and violent incidents for the past three years. Most of the communities have been forced into tent areas and temporary settlements.

An Al Jazeera field study in the West Bank shows that the areas Bedouin communities live in have shrunk rapidly over the past three years. Citing UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) data, the report says at least 1,500 households have been forced to leave permanent residences.
Community representatives quoted in the report say access to water sources has narrowed, livestock grazing areas have been restricted and reaching local schools has become harder. UNRWA reports that the number of emergency classrooms set up for children in the area has doubled.
The Israeli side says that resettlement movements are being conducted on security grounds and that judicial processes are running through the Supreme Court. The Palestinian Authority says it will request that the issue be brought to the United Nations General Assembly agenda. European Union humanitarian funding is expected to be increased next month.
