Rubio expected to brief New Delhi on Xi-Trump summit during India trip
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will brief the Indian side on the outcomes of the recent Xi-Trump summit during a 23-26 May visit to New Delhi. The Quad foreign ministers' meeting is scheduled for 25 May. India is assessing the supply chain implications of the US-China trade arrangement.

According to South China Morning Post, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit New Delhi from 23-26 May for meetings with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. The main agenda will be the outcomes of last week's Xi Jinping-Donald Trump summit and the new trade arrangement between the US and China.
The Quad (US, India, Japan, Australia) foreign ministers' meeting is scheduled for 25 May; the agenda includes restructuring of the Indo-Pacific supply chain and reducing reliance on China for rare earth elements. Observer Research Foundation Director Samir Saran said the visit is 'significant in cementing India's regional role'.
India's main concern is the possible impact on Indian electronics and textile exports of the $30 billion mutual tariff reduction package discussed at the Xi-Trump meeting. According to India's Ministry of Commerce, electronics exports to the US in 2025 were $28.4 billion; that figure could decline by 4-6% with China's return to the market. The Modi government is preparing a supply chain diversification package in parallel.
